    Chubby Wienerz of works as a team. Our team members are employees rather than independent contractors. There are multiple benefits to working with a company that has employees.

  • Consistency in Care

    Our staff members are trained to follow specific instructions in how to best care for your pets. No matter who your care providers is, you will get the same level of service. Companies utilizing independent contractors cannot train or guide independent contractors. Independent contractors determine their own set of procedures and make their own decisions in how to best serve the client. Your care from one independent contractor to the next could be very inconsistent.

  • Supervision

    All employees are closely monitored and supervised. Companies utilizing independent contractors have little to no supervision. Most independent contractors are not subject to GPS tracking so you won’t know if the visits are shortened or done at different times than your request.

  • Education

    All team members participate in on-going education. Your care provider is taught how to best handle your pets and keep them safe. 

  • Accountability

    You have direct access to the owner of the company so when there’s a problem you have someone to call who holds its employees accountable for their actions. When using independent contractors or services like Rover or Thumbtack, who do you call when there’s a problem? 

  • Hiring practices

    Chubby Wienerz applicants go through an intensive screening process. All applicants go through a 5-star interview process including a national, state and county background check. Companies hiring independent contractors have a minimal screening process and oftentimes don’t meet the applicants.

What are the benefits of a dog walker?

Hiring a dog walker benefits both you and your pup. These benefits include:

  • Regular walks promote health and exercise for yuor dog. In order to remain healthy your dog needs exercise and hiring a dog walker can help them achieve regular walks.
  • Walking can help to eliminate destructive behavior at home. Hiring a dog walker will help to allow your dog to relieve his/her pent-up energy. In turn, your dog will be less likely to chew, bite and bark during the day.
  • Mid-day walks with a dog walker can provide companionship. Your pet will likely be happier if they have social interaction while you're away.
  • Scheduled walks allow you to run errands after work without feeling guilty that your pup is home alone. You will have peace of mind knowing that your dog was able to get the exercise nad relief they needed during their walk.

How will I know my pet was walked?

Our Chubby Wienerz app includes a GPS tracking system so you can see the route your walker took when walking your dog.

Do your employees have background checks?

YES! All of our team members must undergo a background check upon hiring.

Raining Cats and Dogs???

We'll get out our galoshes and unleash the fun regardless of inclement weather. Chubby Wienerz performs all pet sitting visits in all types of weather, however, we must exercise regard for our sitters's safety. In extreme weather conditions, morning visits may occur a little later and evening visits earlier. In case of everyday storms, dogs will be walked unless conditions prove unsafe to the pet and walker. Indoor play will be exchanged.

Cancellation Policy

We try to provide pet care for as many families as possible, so our schedule can quickly become full. This means that some families will not be able to receive our services. For this reason we ask that you give us as much notice as possible when canceling or making changes to visits.

Regular Cancellation Policy – Cancellations made within 24 hours of the first scheduled visit will be subject to a cancellation fee equal to one visit. This applies to non-holiday pet sitting visits only.

Holiday Cancellation Policy – Holidays are busy! Book early! Holiday reservations must be secured with a credit card at the time of booking. We’re giving you a little leash here. Holiday cancellations are refunded in full if made two weeks prior to the first visit.

  • One week prior, 50% is refundable.
  • At least 3 days prior, 25% is refundable.
  • Less than three days, 0% is refundable.

Securing access to your home

The safety of your home and pets is our top priority. We take securing your home very seriously. Therefore, if you do not have an access code via the garage or front door, you will need to leave a key in a lockbox near your front door for our pet sitters to access your home. You can buy a lockbox on Amazon. Keep your keys secure and available on your property at all times. Clients using lock boxes are responsible for ensuring they are functional and accessible, especially during times of ice and snow.
